You may recall that I wrote a journal a while back about the Daily Mail and it's fucked up idea that My Chemical Romance had made a girl commit suicide. Well now they're slating Coraline and before that they were pissed off at The Dark Knight.
Let's start with The Dark Knight. The Daily Mail said that it was 'distressing for children' and that 'it should have a higher age certificate because it was too violent to be a 12'. I'm sorry but what the fuck?!? When I went to see it there were about five kids who were way younger than me and they didn't find it scary or distressing. They fucking enjoyed it like most people did. When the Daily Mail got their pretencous movie critic to review it, be said that 'in one scene the joker stabs someone in the eye with a pencil, this is just one incident of the mindless violence that takes over most of this movie'. That scene was awesome!! The people who were watching it along with me, even the kids, LAUGHED. They thought it was clever and well done. Mindless violence? That's what makes some people see movies and anyway, what kind of Batman movie would it be if the Joker and Batman settled their differences by having a tea party and talking about politics? No one would watch it if it was like that. Now, I remember that they kept going like this for about four days. It got up to the point that I was worried I wouldn't get to see it (I was on holiday when this all started and I was going to see it when I got back). They wanted it to be a 18 for fuck's sake!! They even got this mother in to pose with her son and she started going on about how her son was traumatised from it and every child would be scared. Well you've obviously never met Northern Irish kids then, love!!! I'm just glad that the Dark Knight did so well and the Daily Mail had to accept that they where never going to win anyway.
Which brings me to Coraline, The Daily Mail's next target. Since The Dark Knight 'scandal', they had to be
careful with what movie they slated next. No-one would take it up so it meant that the fat, dickheaded movie critic had to dothis all by himself. First of all, he said that it was too scary for children and that they would be confused. JESUS!!! Coraline is an amazing one of a kind movie that could beat the shit out of The Hannah Montana Movie (which surprise, surprise The Daily Mail gave it 4 stars). No kid in the movie theatre was scared, they thought it was cool just like any other kid would. The Daily Mail definatly doesn't know anything about kids. The fat, dickheaded movie critic was fighting a losing battle so now to make up for it, he'll pick on Brüno.
Fuck, I hate the Daily Mail, bunch of fucking cunts who spew out racist crap on a daily basis.
